“Things just aren’t going well today…” and the meeting hadn’t even started yet. 😅

Trouble on another job made the morning interesting, but thankfully, our first meeting with the architect for this Upper East Side apartment renovation went great.

Our team is wrapping up the Panorama window installation, and the original doors were carefully removed and labeled so they can be preserved and reused.

After making our way across Manhattan, we’re checking in on our Upper East Side apartment renovation. Demo is officially 90% complete, and we’re working through the details for the standing shower, radiators, and everything that will bring this luxury space together.

A landmark district isn’t a restriction. It’s the reason the block still looks like this.

New York has 157 historic districts across the five boroughs. If your house sits inside one, the exterior isn’t only yours anymore. Most work visible from the street goes to the Landmarks Preservation Commission before it ever reaches a DOB permit, including things owners assume are routine maintenance.

Owners hear that and assume delay. But it’s the reason any of these blocks survived. Somebody now has to make a case before a cornice comes off or a façade gets refaced in so
