🔥 They thought it was a wood-burning fireplace. It wasn’t.

There was ash in the firebox. The previous homeowner had been burning wood. Everything seemed perfectly normal.

But when Kasey inspected it before the new homeowners moved in, he discovered something they definitely needed to know before lighting their first fire.

This chimney crown had deteriorated significantly, leaving cracked and failing mortar at the top of the chimney. A chimney crown may not be the first thing you notice from the ground, but it plays an important role in keeping water out and protecting the masonry below.

Our hearts go out to our friends and neighbors affected by the historic White River flooding. ❤️

In nearly 50 years of calling Noblesville home, we have never seen flooding like this. And we know communities throughout Central Indiana are hurting.

We’re grateful that our team is safe, but so many of our neighbors, customers and friends have not been as fortunate.

If you’re able to help, the City of Noblesville has shared information below for volunteering or donating to local flood relief efforts.

SERVE Village is building a volunteer roster as Noblesville navigates current flooding and Hamilton County Community Foundation is collecting donations to support flood relief and recovery efforts in our community.

🔥 Job Spotlight: Protecting the Firebox

During this fireplace inspection, we found cracks in the rear wall of the firebox. Our team repaired the damaged areas and installed a stainless steel heatback to provide an added layer of protection from the intense heat of the fire and radiate more heat into the room.

Repairing damage now + adding protection can help extend the life of the firebox and keep the fireplace in better condition for years to come.
