Position Summary
A&K Construction is seeking a Commercial Construction Superintendent to manage daily operations on job sites in the Oklahoma City area. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong commercial construction experience who can manage people, schedules, materials, and safety — ensuring every project meets our high standards of quality and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all daily on-site construction activities.
Supervise and schedule subcontractors and vendors.
Supervise and lead all "self-performing" work
Coordinate with project managers on material orders, change orders, and logistics.
Ensure job site safety protocols are followed at all times.
Monitor project schedules and budgets to ensure deadlines are met.
Perform quality control inspections and verify work meets project specifications.
Maintain accurate job site logs and daily progress reports.
Lead daily safety meetings and proactively manage safety strategies.
Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
Utilize project management tools such as ProCore and Microsoft Office to document progress.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent.
10+ years of experience in commercial construction.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents and drawings.
Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient with construction software (e.g., ProCore, Microsoft Office).
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
MUST LIVE IN OR BE ABLE TO COMMUTE TO NEWCASTLE, OK.
Preferred Skills
OSHA 30 Certification Preferred
Strong understanding of commercial construction techniques and sequencing
Experience working on multiple concurrent job sites, and meeting goals and timelines
MUST HAVE MINIMUM 10 YEARS COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION AND MINIMUM 5 YEARS LEADING COMMERCIAL JOB SITES.
