🌷☀️ Hello March 1st!

The sun is peeking out, the temps are creeping up, (or back down) and it finally feels like nice weather is on the way. Spring might actually be trying to make an entrance (we’ll see how long Mother Nature behaves 😌).

With warmer days ahead, it’s the perfect time to do a few quick home electrical safety checks — because spring cleaning isn’t just about closets!

⚡ Electrician Spring Tips:
• Test your smoke detectors & carbon monoxide detectors (yes, really… go press the button 🫣).
• Check outdoor outlets and extension cords for cracks or weather damage from winter.
• Look for flickering lights or frequently tripping breakers — small signs can mean bigger problems.
• If you’re planning any spring projects: deck lighting, new appliances, outdoor power, or remodels…
👉 Hire a licensed electrician.

Not your cousin’s friend’s coworker who “knows a little something.”

A licensed contractor keeps your home safe, up to code, and protected if anything goes wrong.

Cheers 🍻 to March 🍀, possible warmer days, and homes that aren’t secretly trying to shock us. Just those high BGE bills ⚡🏡💛

Happy November 🍂

November marks the start of the busy holiday season, and with it comes a significant increase in electrical usage! From Thanksgiving cooking to festive light displays, your home's electrical system is working overtime.

To ensure a safe and bright season, consider these tips:

💡 Inspect Holiday Lights: Before decorating, check all light strands for frayed cords, broken sockets, or loose connections. Damaged lights should be replaced.

🔌 Avoid Overloading Outlets: Be cautious not to plug too many high-wattage appliances (like space heaters or multiple strands of lights) into a single outlet or extension cord. This can overload circuits and create a fire hazard.

🏠 Use GFCI Outlets: For all outdoor decorations, plug lights and cords into ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) outlets to protect against shocks in damp conditions.

🗓️ Schedule an Inspection: An electrical safety inspection from a qualified electrician can identify potential issues before they become major problems, providing peace of mind during the festivities.

"If at first you don't succeed, try doing what your electrician told you to do the first time."

Give us a call today, or anytime (we are always available) to have someone help you with your homes electrical needs.

🔥 Did you know the first full week of October is National Fire Prevention Week? As electricians, we know that many house fires start with faulty wiring or overloaded circuits. Don't let your festive decorations turn into a fright!

👻 October is here, and whether you're decking out your home with spooky lights or carving pumpkins, electrical safety should always be your top treat.

💡Check Your Cords: Inspect all outdoor and indoor light strands for frayed wires, cracked insulation, or broken sockets. Damaged cords are a fire hazard—toss 'em!

🌩 Outdoor Rated Only: Make sure any lights or extension cords used outside are specifically labeled for outdoor use.

⚡️ Don't Overload: Use a power strip with a surge protector.

🛑 Check your Smoke Detectors and Carbon Monoxide Detectors.

Have a safe and spooky October from the team at JES Electric Services, LLC Need an outlet inspected before you power up your decorations?
