Another beautiful project in the books for Kevin Mac’s Carpentry.

This historic Duxbury property features an original barn dating all the way back to 1772, making preservation and craftsmanship absolutely critical. We were honored to install a stunning new Red Cedar Perfection Roof, restoring the home’s character while providing decades of protection.

From careful preparation to the final course, every detail was completed with respect for the history of this incredible property.

The old cedar roof has been completely stripped off and the home is prepped for its next chapter.

✔️ New 1/2” CDX plywood layover installed
✔️ Vycor Ice & Water Shield applied to all vulnerable areas
✔️ VaporDry SA synthetic underlayment protecting the remaining roof deck
✔️ New Velux VSS M06 skylight installed, replacing the old failing unit
✔️ Roof deck fully prepared and ready for new Red Cedar Perfections tomorrow

We’re carefully stripping and prepping this historic property for a beautiful new red cedar roof, preserving the character and craftsmanship that has stood the test of time for generations. Duxbury was one of the earliest towns established in Massachusetts, with roots dating back to the Pilgrim era of the 1600s.

Projects like this are a reminder that quality craftsmanship isn’t just about building new—it’s about honoring the past while protecting it for the future.

🇺🇸 D-Day – June 6, 1944 🇺🇸

Today marks the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, when more than 150,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy, France, in one of the most courageous military operations in history.

These brave men faced unimaginable odds, knowing many would never return home, yet they pressed forward in the fight for freedom. Their sacrifice helped liberate Western Europe and changed the course of World War II.

As Americans, we owe a debt that can never truly be repaid. Let us honor their courage, remember their sacrifice, and strive to be worthy of the freedoms they secured for future generations.
