We’re wearing pink every Friday in October to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and show our support for survivors, fighters, and families impacted by breast cancer!
Why is spreading awareness so important? Knowledge saves lives! Here are a few key facts everyone should know:
1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in their lifetime.
Early detection saves lives: When breast cancer is detected early at a localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is over 99%.
It’s not just genetic: Only 5% to 10% of breast cancers are tied to an inherited genetic mutation—meaning the vast majority occur without a family history.
Men get breast cancer, too: While far less common, men have breast tissue and can also be diagnosed.
Why Awareness Matters: Spreading the word encourages people to schedule their routine mammograms, perform monthly self-exams, and listen to their bodies. Early detection leads to better outcomes and more lives saved.
Wear your pink on Friday and remind someone you love to get screened.
