Mother nature can be brutal! Thankfully, our building codes are a lot better than they used to be! That’s because of this hurricane and the damage it caused. After hurricane Andrew, the state of Florida started to improve the way our homes are built.

On this date in 1992, Hurricane Andrew made landfall in SE Florida. This storm was historical to say the least in a very quiet hurricane season. It changed how we look at how homes and buildings are constructed in FL. Meteorologist Josh Linker
