Matras Maple is a 2,100 tap and growing operation run by brothers Willie and Asa Matras on Route 107 in Pittsfield, NH.

The sugarhouse is open year round with our maple products and more!

We hired some new crew members last week to help us out in the woods - Sterling and Silver, and Martin and Scotty 🐂 Our niece and nephew each have a pair of oxen and we used them to haul maple equipment out of the woods. We are reconfiguring our new sugarbush and used the oxen to relocate our big sap tank and pump house that were in a tricky location in the woods.

Willie and Asa have been spending a lot of time in the sugarbush lately getting things tweaked for the coming season. It’s one of the nicest times of year to work in the woods! 🍂

It really is a testament to what a huge impact his artwork has made in New Hampshire, New England, and beyond. He doesn’t have a page so we wanted to celebrate his huge milestone with you here. 🍁🍁🍁Sugarhouse update! 🍁🍁🍁

Fall has arrived at the sugarhouse! Things have been fairly business-as-usual around here this summer with a few small changes. First, we are no longer offering fresh eggs or maple cream - we apologize to anyone who is disappointed about this! We are also taking a break temporarily from making ice cream but don’t worry, it will make a comeback eventually!

In the meantime when you stop in you still have a full selection of maple syrup in plastic and glass containers. Lindsay also restocked the soap cupboard with fall scents from The Sudsy Cow! There is a nice selection of beef to choose from and there are still Matras Maple t-shirts and sweatshirts available!

Can’t make it to the Deerfield Fair? Pick up artwork and notecards by Gene Matras here at the sugarhouse! But by all means, do what you can so you don’t miss the Deerfield Fair!!

Sugarhouse is open every Monday - Saturday (closed Sundays) from 9 am - 6 pm. Thank you for your support!

We’ve been quiet on here but the sugarhouse has been busy! Thanks to everyone who has stopped in for ice cream and other goodies this summer, your support means so much!

Sugaring wood for the 2027 season is DONE! This might be the earliest we’ve ever had wood neatly stacked away in the shed…we aren’t going to complain!
