Professional workmanship, attention to detail, & customer satisfaction We pride ourselves on our professionalism and ability to REALLY LISTEN to your needs.

As horticultural graduates from NC State University, Mark & Trudy Pilcher began their careers as growers in large greenhouse operations. Later, they started their own greenhouse and commercial landscaping and maintenance company in Cleveland, NC. In 1984, Mark and Trudy moved to Atlantic Beach, FL (Mark’s hometown) because they wanted to offer year-round landscape services. Pilcher Landscape Management was then established as a full-service landscape company at the Beaches. We strive to be the only call you will need for any of your landscape needs. We service the Jacksonville, Beaches, and Northeast Florida.

A week of rain left First Coast yards soaked, and now that it’s dry, it’s a good time to see what the storm left behind. Here’s what the Pilcher team recommends:

✅ Walk the lawn. Look for new fire ant mounds, brown patches of fungus, and armyworm damage. All three tend to flare up when heat follows heavy rain.
✅ Note where water pooled. Last week was a free drainage test, and fall is the best time to fix what it found.
✅ Add plants that handle wet soil, like Fakahatchee grass and wax myrtle.
✅ Keep your irrigation off until the soil dries out. Phase III watering restrictions are still in effect.
✅ Check your outdoor lights after the storm. Shorter days and Halloween are coming.

We're in the thick of hurricane season -- a good time to have your irrigation system's backflow preventer, valve boxes, and drainage checked before the next storm rolls through. A 30-minute audit now beats an emergency repair later.
