We get a lot of requests from merchants about the perfect 10 x 10 option. The challenge — guy ropes!

Covering a pop-up in canvas is usually not cost-effective and we would need the actual frame because they’re all a little bit different in style, attachment points, and the forces involved. Also, let’s face it, the cover will last much, much longer than the frame!

A 10-ish foot marquee (really more like 11.5x11.5 or 8.5x8.5 — due to fabric widths) like this is probably the closest and most beautiful option for merchants. You have lots of space to display your wares — but guy ropes are necessary to hold the tent up.

So you have to get cozy with your neighbors 🙂

Open to other ideas if folks have found a way. We’d love to see more merchants in beautiful, period tents!

Sewing a leather patch for each of our Stalwart Pavilion stake loops some takes time.

Then it’s punched and a length of rope added. If you’ve ever had a stake loop rip, how wonderful to just replace with another length of rope without the tent being damaged at all!

In Praise Of Toggles

You hold tight and fast
and loosen with ease
when the rain’s falling hard

You open one-handed

when I’m outrunning a bard
and need to hide quick.

You don’t swell like ties do
when it’s humid and damp
hand sewn and beautiful
you brighten my camp!
