A finished paint job should create more than a “done” text.

Our painters submit a structured Completion Agreement when work wraps up. That one closeout record helps organize payroll review, invoicing, production history, room counts, and approved bonus calculations.

The painter closes out the job once. The useful information keeps moving where it needs to go.

It is not the flashiest system we have built, but it might be one of the hardest-working.

DIY Wednesday: Make your floor protection move with you.

Flatten a large piece of cardboard and lay it below the section of wall you’re painting. Slide it along as you work. It stays flatter underfoot than loose plastic and gives stray drips a solid barrier before they reach the floor.

Homeowner Money-Saving Tip:
The cheapest can of paint can cost more if you end up repainting sooner.

Think about the wall beside your dining table. Chairs bump it, hands touch it, and marks get wiped off. We see that kind of wear on rental turns all the time. For a wall that works that hard, price matters, but so does how well the finish holds up.

Some painting jobs arrive as neat work orders. Others arrive as an email, an attachment, and a small detective story.

We built an AI-assisted intake system that turns scattered information into an organized job record, checks for possible duplicates, and sends anything uncertain to a person instead of guessing.

Less retyping. Cleaner information. Human judgment where it matters.

For us, useful AI looks less like a robot and more like a really sharp office assistant.

We built our own AI assistant.

His name is Alfred. 🤖🎨

And this thing is seriously cool.

He’s not just there to answer questions.. He can actually help with the day-to-day stuff at 2B.

He can help painters with invoices, pricing, catch missing photos or info, help with callbacks and damage reports, update availability, handle insurance requests, answer questions about our system, and a much more!

On the management side, he can help keep track of callbacks, inspections, lockboxes, recruiting follow-ups, job progress, and all the little things that are easy to forget when there’s a lot going on.

The goal is eventually for everyone at 2B to start their day with AI basically saying:

Here’s what's needed. Here’s what matters most. Here’s what you’re waiting on. Here’s what I already handled for you. 😎

Less remembering things.
Less chasing people.
Less admin work.
Less stuff living in somebody’s head.

More time actually painting, managing jobs, helping people, and getting things done.

We’ve still got a lot to build, but Alfred is officially ALLLIIIIIVEEEE

And this is just the beginning. 🦇🤖
