May 2022: My wife and I took a massive leap of faith and bought a barren plot of land—spending every penny we had, right before our wedding.
2023–2024: We spent two years working the land, planting trees, and dreaming of building our home from the ground up. Truthfully, we didn’t even know if we could pull it off with me acting as the builder.
2025–Spring 2026: I spent countless hours hand-drawing full-scale prints of our dream home before handing them off to be professionally engineered. By May of 2026, we had final building plans in hand.
July 2026: We broke ground! It marked the official start of this next chapter in our lives
You can definitely tell a carpenter is building this one... there is a lot of wood going into this house! The home has full cedar post-and-beam porches with Southern yellow pine rafters and roof deck. I love wood—what can I say?
