Storms don't always create tree problems; they expose preexisting conditions.

Weak attachments, dead branches, decay, and other structural defects can become failure points when strong winds and heavy rain place additional stress on a tree.

A seasonal assessment and targeted pruning can help identify and address potential hazards before the next storm puts them to the test.

Safety is at the heart of everything we do.

Our hands-on training in the field gives our employees the confidence to make sound decisions when unexpected situations arise.

From aerial rescue to emergency response, we train for the moments when preparation matters most.

Our goal is simple: to keep our team, our clients, and families safe from harm.

Rainy season is on the way 🌧️ Now's the time to protect your oaks.

Wet conditions increase the risk of Sudden Oak Death, caused by the pathogen Phytophthora ramorum. Once infected, susceptible oaks can decline rapidly, with some trees dying within a few years.

Fall is an important window to evaluate your oaks and consider seasonal Plant Health Care (PHC) treatments. Our Certified Arborists can assess your trees and help determine what preventative measures may be appropriate.

Trees don't always make their problems obvious.

A few warning signs can indicate structural issues, decay, or other concerns worth having evaluated.

Save this post for your next backyard tree check and if something doesn't look right, get a professional opinion before the problem gets bigger.

As wet weather arrives, mushrooms and other fungi become more common around our trees.

If you notice mushrooms growing near the base of a tree or around its roots, it could be a sign of fungal activity or decay below the surface.

Not every mushroom indicates a hazardous tree, but it’s worth having an arborist take a closer look to determine what may be happening and whether the tree poses a risk.

Early inspection can help identify potential problems before they become a bigger concern.

Safety starts with preparation.

Our employee training begins in the classroom, where we build the knowledge and skills our team needs to be ready for any situation in the field.

From jobsite safety and hazard recognition to climbing, rigging, and emergency response, we believe preparation is the foundation of safe, professional tree care.

Now is the time to prepare your trees for the storms ahead.

Targeted pruning by our expert arborists can help address dead, damaged, or structurally compromised branches before winter weather arrives.

When it comes to storm preparation, where and why you cut matters.

Coast Live Oaks (Quercus agrifolia) are some of the most beautiful and iconic trees native to the Bay Area.

As we head into the wetter months, now is the time to take proactive steps to protect your oaks from Sudden Oak Death.

Early evaluation and appropriate treatment can help support the health and longevity of susceptible trees before wet weather arrives.

We recently held an in-house aerial rescue training with our climbing and ground crews.

We’re always looking for ways to sharpen our skills and keep safety at the forefront of our work. Investing in our team means investing in safer, better tree care.

It’s just one more way we’re raising the bar at Ned Patchett Tree Care & Consulting.

Fall is a great time to take a closer look at the trees around your property.

Look for:
• Dead or hanging branches
• Cracks or damaged limbs
• Branches rubbing against your roof or home
• Signs of decay or disease
• Trees that have become noticeably unbalanced

Catching potential problems early can make a big difference, especially before the next round of strong wind and rain.

Need a professional opinion? An arborist consultation can help you understand what your trees need now and what to keep an eye on down the road.
