Built for the Big Leages! ⚾️

Hill Construction treated the entire company and their families to an unforgettable Padres vs. Dodgers game at Petco Park!

The day was filled with great food and drinks from , followed by stunning ballpark views, plenty of Padres-Dodgers banter, and the kind of camaraderie that makes our team so special. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our company’s accomplishments, connect across markets, enjoy time with one another’s families, and create lasting memories beyond the job site and office.

Events like this are a meaningful reminder that Hill Construction is more than a company - we are a team, a community, and a family. We are honored to share that our project Carbon Beach received a 2026 AIA | LA Resilient Design Award!

In response to the devastating wildfires and the growing impact of natural disasters in Los Angeles and beyond, the Los Angeles chapter of the American Institute of Architects introduced its Resilient Design Award to its Residential Architecture Awards program.

The Carbon Beach design embodies resilience through its material choices and adaptive elements, including a custom, self-draining pier, durable during high tides and storm surges while maintaining easy connection to the waterfront. Its concrete facade provides an unrivaled line of physical defense against wildfires by serving as a non-combustible shield that blocks direct flames and wind-blown embers.

Judges mention that it’s a “project demonstrating resilience through its survival and continued presence within a challenging environmental context. Its endurance speaks to the strength and permanence of the architecture.” -

Our Carbon Beach residence is a space where these elements coexist seamlessly. At the center of the home is a glass-lined, open-air garden courtyard that draws in light and ocean air.

What do you do when the property of your dreams doesn’t come with its own body of water?

You build one.

This infinity reflecting pool was designed to meet the living room window - blurring the line between indoors and out, so that from within, the home appears to float effortlessly atop the water.

“The clients took a huge leap of faith with this one, but realized that it would elevate the entire project,” says David Lucas, creative director at interior architecture and design studio Lucas. “This reflecting pool is what the house is organized around, and [it] interacts with the house in different ways,” he adds, “reflecting different parts of the house, the view, and the gorgeous trees that existed on the property.” -
