Art Made Here Art Made Here is a community art workshop program led by artists Kelynn Alder and Michael Bartalos in Mexico's Lacandón jungle and its environs.

Art Made Here offers participants of all ages an array of art-making opportunities from printmaking and painting to collage and photography. Our recent focus is on creating large scale projects to benefit communities in the long term such as collaborative banners, murals, public art, symbols of identity, and creative signage.

General information

Art Made Here is directed by artists Kelynn Alder and Michael Bartalos. The program originated as the Lacandón Children's Art Workshops founded by Kelynn Alder in 1996. The first workshops were held in Nahá and Lacanjá, two indigenous Mayan jungle communities in Chiapas, Mexico. The program has since expanded to include the Lacandón community of Metzabok and the Central Highlands town of San Cristóbal de las Casas.
