Things are going vertical outside the 16th Street BART station! 🏗️

It’s exciting to see this project taking shape in the Mission, made possible by the collaboration and hard work of a strong project team.

Proud to be building alongside Guzman Construction Group (), Herman Coliver Locus Architecture (), Mission Housing Development Corporation (Mission Housing Development Corporation ), and the Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA ).

Looking forward to sharing more as construction continues!

Meet Thomas, one of our former interns who has since joined Cahill full-time as a Project Engineer!

Thomas first discovered Cahill through our internship program, drawn to our orange branding (his favorite color) and the opportunity to work on projects that make a meaningful impact in the Bay Area communities he calls home.

During his time as an intern with Cahill, Thomas gained experience at nearly every stage of construction, from project startup and active construction through closeout. He also spent a summer working with our Self-Perform team on wood framing, giving him firsthand field experience and a deeper understanding of the challenges our trade partners navigate every day.

“Having that range of experiences gave me a much more complete understanding of how a project comes together.”

Those experiences helped make his transition into a full-time Project Engineer feel natural. Already familiar with Cahill’s processes and project teams, Thomas was able to step into his new role ready to take on greater responsibility, accountability, and ownership of his work.

His advice for future interns? Don’t be afraid to make mistakes or ask questions, and above all, be a sponge.

“Ask questions, spend time in the field, listen to your project team and the trades, and absorb as much knowledge as you can. You’ll be surprised by how much you can learn over the course of a summer.”

For Thomas, one of the most rewarding parts of his Cahill experience has been seeing the impact our projects have on the communities we serve. His first summer was spent at Ancora Place, a project designed to serve as an “anchor” for the surrounding community. Seeing that vision come to life reinforced one of the reasons he was drawn to Cahill in the first place: the opportunity to build projects that make a real difference.

From intern to his new role as a Project Engineer, we’re excited to see Thomas continue to learn, grow, and build his career at Cahill. 🏗️

Good times were in full swing at Topgolf! ⛳

Our Cahill team and family members came together in Burlingame for an afternoon of golf, friendly competition, food, and fun.

We always enjoy opportunities to bring our people together beyond the office and jobsites, strengthen connections, and make some memories along the way.

Thanks to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon a great one!

This summer, we completed the renovation of The Branson School’s gym in Ross, California, its first major update since opening in 1982! The transformation included upgraded AV, scoreboards, hoops, bleachers, lighting and acoustical panels, along with beautifully refinished floors.

The renovation also put our team’s problem-solving skills to work. When existing structural steel created an unexpected challenge for new electrical conduit, the team developed a creative solution that kept the design clean and the project moving forward.

Despite a tight summer schedule, the gym was completed on time for volleyball season and is already back in action.

Next up: Phase 2, featuring a renovated fitness and training center, coming in 2027!

Just in time for the new school year, we’re looking back at recently completed classroom improvements at Capuchino High School and Burlingame High School!

These renovations are part of a modernization effort for the San Mateo Union High School District, enhancing approximately 420 classrooms and labs across six high school campuses. Improvements included new paint, flooring, ceiling tile, lighting, marker boards, and select AV upgrades, creating refreshed learning environments for students and educators.

Featured here are completed spaces at Capuchino High School and Burlingame High School, ready to welcome students back for another year of learning!

This , we asked our field teams a simple but important question: Why does safety and health matter to you? 👷‍♂️💚 Their answers say it all!

But staying safe doesn’t stop at the boundaries of our jobsites. At The Eliza, we recently received a thoughtful note from a neighbor looking out for our team—a reminder that our community looks out for us, the same way we look out for them. 🤝

From our crews to our neighbors, safety is something we all play a part in. Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate and, more importantly, who makes safety a priority every day.

Here’s to staying safe, staying sound, and always looking out for one another. 🦺🏗️

Some of the most rewarding projects are the ones that bring us back.

After delivering Fremont High School's $100 million expansion and renovation in 2021, Cahill had the opportunity to return to campus last year to help create additional classroom space for Oakland Unified School District. The project transformed a challenging hillside area through extensive shoring work and the installation of new permanent and prefabricated classrooms by Global Modular.

We were honored to celebrate the opening alongside OUSD () staff and our design partners at HY Architects (.architects). Thank you to everyone who helped make these new learning environments a reality for Fremont High School students and educators. Go Tigers!

Our interns traded their laptops for clues and codes during an afternoon at The Escape Game San Francisco! Their mission: infiltrate a museum, outsmart the curator, recover a missing masterpiece, and make their escape.

With teamwork, quick thinking, and a little detective work, our interns put their problem-solving skills to the test in The Heist.

Giving our interns opportunities to connect, have fun, and build relationships beyond their day-to-day work are one of our favorite parts of the intern program. We love creating moments that make their summer with us both meaningful and memorable!
