Red Dipper’s Installation of Street Lights at a Legendary Intersection
We are honored to have played a part in the dedication of Dr. Maya Angelou Lane and Toni Stone Crossing, the first-ever intersection in San Francisco to bear the names of two trailblazing Black women. As Red Dipper, we take pride in installing the street lights at this iconic site, ensuring that their legacy continues to shine brightly.
Dr. Maya Angelou, an acclaimed poet and writer, was also San Francisco’s first Black female streetcar conductor, while Toni Stone broke barriers as the first woman to play on a professional baseball team alongside men. Their stories are woven into the fabric of San Francisco’s history, and it’s truly humbling to contribute to this momentous occasion.
This is not just a celebration of these incredible women, but a step forward for the Port of San Francisco and the City and County of San Francisco in honoring the contributions of Black women to our community. At Red Dipper, we remain committed to building the future while recognizing those who paved the way.
