Well, it’s definitely starting to look like a chair. Now I just gotta dismantle it to clean up the surfaces, glue it up, clean it up some more, and put some sort of blackish finish on it. Big thanks, as usual, to Lost Art Press for all the good ideas.

We’re looking forward to hosting another Artist Show + Tell event with Emily Wolahan this Saturday, June 18th. We’re excited to hear what artists Catherine Lipsetz Dauer Marshall Elliott and Tim Guan will tell us about their processes and what all of you have to ask in response. And if Emily gets her way, I might even show off a few woodworking tricks myself at some point in the evening.

We hope you can join us. Let us know if you think you’re gonna make it, or if you have any questions, or if you might wanna speak at a future event yourself. (Because there will be more of these evenings in the future and there are a ton of fantastic artists around The Bay who have a lot to teach us all.)

Public service announcement: if you’re in San Francisco and you’re a homeowner or builder or installer and you’re thinking you might need a good safe ladder for getting work done up to nine or ten feet, you REALLY should get to and buy one of these podium ladders while the price is this good. They really are the business. I mean, I own one and I’m having serious thoughts about buying another one. Also, if you go up to to fish for Lahontan cutthroats, you’ll be ready to hang out at the drop-off.

We’re excited to partner with in launching the Artist Show + Tell series. and will take part as presenting artists but this event is ALSO about discussion and connection. If you are in SF, want to hear from four incredibly interesting artists and want to share your own thoughts and creative practice, JOIN US!
Inspired by Emily’s experiences with similar events during her time at , this will be a great evening in the exploring and celebrating different ways artists from different disciplines create their work. We’ll get inspired, exchange ideas, and reinforce that San Francisco is a place of artistic innovation. DM Emily or GVS to RSVP (appreciated for numbers and planning; not required for attendance.)
