Some fields have excellent tiling potential but no natural place for the water to go. That is where a properly engineered pump station becomes essential. ⚙️💧

The collection basin, pump, controls, discharge line, acreage, soil conditions, and required lift all need to work together as one system. Proper sizing moves water effectively without forcing an undersized pump to fall behind or an oversized pump to cycle excessively.

It also costs fuel, time, seed, fertilizer, extra passes, equipment wear, and unnecessary compaction every time you drive around it. Add those losses up over several seasons, and that “small” field pothole becomes an expensive permanent problem.

Myth-busting: Does drainage tile pull too much water out of your soil? It’s a common misconception that tile lines drain the field completely dry, leaving crops vulnerable if a dry summer hits.

Here’s the science: Drainage tile only removes gravitational water—the excess, suffocating water that completely floods the soil pores and robs roots of oxygen. It stops draining naturally once the soil reaches "field capacity."

By removing that top layer of choke-water early on, your crop's roots are able to grow deep into the subsoil. When the August heat hits, those deep roots can reach the deep-stored moisture that untilled, shallow-rooted crops can't touch.
