⚡️What can a tripping AC Breaker be trying to tell you?

This is a start relay, one of the components that helps the compressor get started.

When your AC turns on, the start capacitor provides an extra boost to help the compressor start. Once the compressor reaches operating speed, the start relay takes the start capacitor back out of the circuit.

So what happened here? 👀

The starting components failed and the compressor was struggling to start. The resulting electrical problem tripped the breaker and left the burn marks that you see on the inside of this relay.

🔥 That damage is exactly why a breaker that repeatedly trips when your AC runs shouldn't just be reset over and over.

A tripping breaker can be a warning that something in the system needs professional attention.

The condensate drain wasn't routed properly, making it difficult for water to drain as intended. We removed the excess piping and rerouted the line to improve drainage and help prevent water from backing up.
