And in fairness, some of it earned that reputation.

There were borders. There were tiny fruit patterns. There were bathrooms covered in wallpaper that looked like it had been chosen during a sugar crash. There were florals so aggressive they could raise your blood pressure.

Then people started ripping it all down and painting everything neutral.

But wallpaper has come a long way.
