🏊 Project Spotlight: Techo-Bloc Pool Patio | Bernardston, MA

When most people think about a pool project, they focus on the pool itself.

But the patio surrounding it often has the biggest impact on how the space looks, feels, and functions.

For this Bernardston project, we installed large-format Techo-Bloc paver slabs to create a clean, modern pool deck with plenty of room for lounging, entertaining, and enjoying the outdoors. The larger slab format gives the space a sleek appearance while providing the durability needed to stand up to New England's changing seasons.

The result is a backyard that feels less like a pool and more like a destination.

🏊‍♂️ Project Spotlight: Sugarledge Stone Pool Patio & Custom Coping | Cummington, MA

A pool may be the centerpiece of the backyard—but the patio is where people actually spend their time.

For this project in Cummington, we replaced the typical concrete pool surround with locally sourced Sugarledge Stone Quarry, Inc. stone flagging and custom stone coping, creating a poolside space that feels more like a natural extension of the landscape than an afterthought. Sugarledge Stone is prized throughout Western Massachusetts for its durability, character, and timeless New England appearance.

One of my favorite things about this project is how the stone softens the transition between the pool and the surrounding yard. No flashy materials. No trends. Just authentic stone craftsmanship designed to look as good twenty years from now as it does today.

Project Spotlight: Modern Function Meets Nighttime Atmosphere in Bernardston, MA 💡⛰️

When a backyard has a significant slope, the goal isn't just to hold back the earth—it’s to create a destination. For this Bernardston home, we designed a multi-level space that stays functional long after the sun sets.

The Material Breakdown:
1️⃣ Ideal Block Retaining Walls: We used high-quality engineered blocks to create clean, structural tiers. This allowed us to carve out a massive, level patio area from a once-sloping hill.
2️⃣ Granite Steps: For the heavy traffic areas, nothing beats the durability of solid granite. These steps provide a safe, wide transition between the levels.
3️⃣ Integrated Lighting: We built low-voltage LED lighting directly into the walls and steps. It doesn't just look incredible at night; it adds a crucial layer of safety for the homeowners.

From structural engineering to the final glow of the patio lights, this project was all about maximizing every square inch of the yard.

Project Spotlight: A Classic Trio in Greenfield, MA 🧱🌲

Creating a traditional look that stands the test of time often comes down to picking the right "team" of materials. In this Greenfield project, we brought together three New England staples to transform the home's exterior.

The Material Breakdown:
1️⃣ Fieldstone: Used for the retaining walls to provide that rugged, hand-stacked texture. This red stone is a common sight around the Greenfield area.
2️⃣ Granite: We used granite for the steps and capstones to give the project clean lines and unmatched durability.
3️⃣ Clay Pavers: The brick-style walkways add a pop of color and a historic "paver" feel that ties the whole landscape together.

Whether it’s the structural strength of the fieldstone or the timeless look of the clay pavers, each material plays a specific role in this Traditional design.
