Not every building needs to be flashy.

Sometimes it just needs to be big, efficient, durable, and really good at doing its job.

We’ve worked on plenty of pre-engineered metal buildings over the years, and while PEMBs can look pretty straightforward on paper, there’s still a lot of coordination happening behind the scenes. Owner, contractor, PEMB supplier, structural engineer, architect… everyone has a piece of the puzzle.

That’s where experience matters.

We help coordinate the building system, foundations, openings, exterior materials, interior needs, and all the little details that can turn into very big headaches if they aren’t figured out early.

Simple? Sometimes.

Straightforward? Not always.

But practical, efficient, and built for a purpose? Absolutely.

"The toys! The toys are alive!"

The VDW crew dressed up as Toy Story characters and particiated in Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. Trick or Treating yesterday. We loved seeing all the creative costumes, handing out candy, and enjoyed the afternoon downtown.

Today we celebrate the heritage, resilience, and contributions of Native communities throughout our nation. In South Dakota, we proudly recognize the generations of Native Americans whose culture, leadership, and military service have left a lasting mark on our state and country.

Their history is woven into the story of South Dakota. Their legacy continues to shape its future.

Years in the making and this one is finally happening! We celebrated the groundbreaking of Foss Fields yesterday. A big congrats to Ryan Tysdal, Tysdal Commercial, and the entire Foss family for having this vision and putting in the hours to bring it to reality.

The retail and commercial landscape of east Sioux Falls is going to look a whole lot different in the years ahead, and we're excited to be a part of it!

(And as an added bonus...Katie even got to hold a shovel!)

Happy World Architecture Day!

We draw walls. Move walls. Move them back. Add a door. Delete the door. Then somehow turn it all into a building.
Architecture is basically solving 1,000 little problems while making sure the final result looks like there were never any problems at all.
Add in a few redlines, a lot of coordination, questionable amounts of caffeine and you’ve got the job.
