🏠 WHAT’S HIDING UNDER YOUR ROOF?
Here’s a perfect example of why proper attic ventilation and bathroom exhaust routing matter!
During a roofing project, we inspected the attic and discovered significant dark staining on the underside of the roof decking near the soffit.
🚨 The problem? Bathroom exhaust venting through the soffit.
Bathroom fans remove warm, moisture-filled air from your home. When that air is discharged near soffit intake vents, moisture can be drawn right back into the attic.
Over time, this can contribute to:
❌ Condensation on roof decking
❌ Mold-like growth and moisture staining
❌ Premature deterioration of plywood
❌ Reduced roof system longevity
Our solution?
✔️ Remove the affected plywood
✔️ Inspect the surrounding framing
✔️ Reroute the bathroom exhaust through a properly flashed roof-mounted gooseneck vent
✔️ Maintain proper attic intake and exhaust ventilation
At A.W. Browns Contractor Services, we don’t believe in simply covering up problems with new shingles.
We inspect, identify the cause, and correct it.
A new roof should solve problems, not hide them.
