Another school foodservice project completed! 🎉

We’re excited to share a look inside Souder Elementary School with Everman ISD.

FDP provided food service design services for the project, helping plan a kitchen and serving environment that supports the school’s day-to-day operation while keeping future needs in mind.

Food service design involves much more than selecting equipment. There are a lot of details behind the finished kitchen — workflow, utilities, storage, serving capacity, equipment coordination and plenty of conversations along the way. Seeing all those pieces come together is always rewarding.

Thank you to Huckabee and the project team, Singer H&R as the Kitchen Equipment Contractor, along with equipment manufacturers Mod-U-Serve, Alto-Shaam, Traulsen and AccuTemp Products for the coordination and expertise that helped bring the project together.

A special thank-you to Ling Weng and the FDP team for helping move the project from early planning and coordination through completion.

We’re proud to have been part of it and excited to see the finished space serving Everman ISD students and staff.

🎉✂️On Friday, August 7th, FDP Project Manager Joel Castaneda had the opportunity to attend the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new Lamar CISD Career & Technical Education Center.

FDP is proud to have provided the design for the Culinary Arts program, helping create a hands-on learning environment where students can develop real-world skills and prepare for careers in the culinary and hospitality industries.

Congratulations to Lamar CISD and the entire team who brought this incredible facility to life, including Stantec , the project architect, Durotech, Inc. , the general contractor, the Lamar CISD Bond and CTE teams, educators, industry partners, and everyone who contributed to making this vision a reality.

We’re grateful to have played a part in a facility that will provide opportunities for Lamar CISD students for years to come!

A closer look inside Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD’s employee bistro

Designed for the district’s Central Administration Building, this food service operation combines the convenience of workplace dining with the flexibility of a modern commercial kitchen.

The space includes:

🍕 A custom hearth-style pizza oven
🥗 A fast-casual employee bistro
đź›’ An all-hour cashier less micro market
👩‍🍳 An open kitchen supporting daily meals, catering and events
⚙️ Strategic equipment planning within a compact footprint

The result is a welcoming and efficient dining environment created specifically for district employees.

We are honored to see this project featured in the 2024 FCSI Project Showcase article;

School meal programs are facing increasing financial pressure as operating costs continue to rise.

FDP supports the School Nutrition Association's efforts to advocate for adequate federal investment in school nutrition programs. Strong funding helps schools maintain their equipment, expand meal options, and continue serving students effectively.

We encourage our school nutrition partners and industry colleagues to learn more and consider signing the petition.

The best school food service projects begin long before construction starts.

One of the biggest conversations coming out of SNA ANC 2026 was funding.

Many districts know their kitchens and dining spaces need improvement but identifying the need is only the first step.

Facility assessments, phased planning, and long-term capital strategies can help districts document their challenges, prioritize improvements, and prepare for future funding opportunities.

The strongest projects don't begin with funding—they begin with a plan.

What is the biggest challenge facing your district’s food service facilities?

One of the best parts of attending conferences like SNA ANC is reconnecting with valued clients while meeting new school nutrition professionals who share the same passion for creating spaces that better serve students.

The best part of our work has never been the booth—it's the relationships we build and the conversations that continue long after the conference ends.

We're looking forward to another great day tomorrow! If you're attending SNA ANC, we'd love to meet you at Booth #1025.

See you in Charlotte!
