🪄 And for our next trick, we’ll be turning this ’90s time capsule into a modern, expansive kitchen! ✨

Okay, we know a remodel isn’t as instant as the wave of a wand, but the transformation can feel a little magical. 😉

Our latest project, Artful Abode, started with a story we hear often: a kitchen crammed into a small area, while valuable square footage around it went unused.

By rethinking the layout, we gave the kitchen more room to breathe and made better use of the square footage the home already had.

Sometimes, it all starts with one call. ✨

We have some details that you need to know! 🫖 The story of these countertops is *unbelievable*

Do you see how that soft sage green in the quartzite countertops matches the cabinet color? That was pure serendipity - the paint color was picked out well before the countertops! When the stars align like that, we knew this was going to be a next-level remodel. 🌠

What happens when an artist gets to make her home part of the canvas? 🎨

Introducing Artful Abode, a 1991 SW Portland remodel that brought fresh life to two of the home’s most-used spaces: the kitchen and primary bathroom.

Wispy sage greens, modern finishes, thoughtful storage, and updated functionality helped move the home beyond its original ’90s design while still leaving plenty of room for personality.

And because our client is an artist, her home also serves as a gallery for her extensive collection of work, bringing color and character to nearly every room.

The finished spaces feel fresh, functional, and completely personal. ✅

Trusses are up, and framing is underway on this whole-home remodel + addition. Next up: roofing and rough plumbing.

Before ➡️ After

This 1980 kitchen kept its original Northwest character while getting a major upgrade in how it functions.

The old two-level island housed both the sink and cooktop, limiting workspace and seating. By moving both off the island, we were able to create one large, single-level surface with more room to prep, gather, and sit.

The range also became a focal point within a newly created alcove, framed by cabinetry for a more intentional, built-in look.

A few thoughtful layout changes made a big difference in how this kitchen looks, feels, and works for everyday life.
