I'm a tile contractor based in Pittsburgh PA. Taking old dated bathrooms and putting a modern look on them is what I love to do

Planning a kitchen backsplash in Pittsburgh?

Here's how to choose a style that looks great and survives real cooking.

A backsplash is one of the fastest ways to change the look of a kitchen. It also takes a beating from grease, steam, and splatter. Here's how to get one that looks good and lasts.

Pick the tile for the job
• Ceramic and porcelain: durable, easy to clean, and available in nearly every style.
• Glass: bright and modern
• Natural stone: beautiful, but it needs sealing and more upkeep.

Think about grout?

Grout lines collect grease and stains. Larger tiles mean fewer grout lines and easier cleaning. Darker or mid-tone grout hides everyday wear better than white.
Details that make it look custom
• Run tile to the ceiling or underneath cabinets for a finished look.
• Plan around outlets and switches so cuts look intentional.
• Keep patterns simple if your countertop is busy.

Don't skip prep!

A good backsplash depends on a flat, clean wall and a proper layout. Rushed prep shows up as uneven lines and cracked grout later.
The bottom line
Choose something you'll still like in ten years, and make sure it's installed with care.

A quality shower doesn't come from just a good finish. It starts from the bottom and comes through on the finish. We only install the best materials and use proper building practices. Starting with prep and fishing with a beautiful project.
