The clocks go back on November 1, and it gets dark before most people are home from work. Landscape lighting makes the yard usable after sunset and makes the house easier to find for guests.

We do landscape lighting for homes in Indian River County and St. Lucie County: uplighting on palms and oaks, lights along paths and driveways, and lighting for entries and the front of the house. Good lighting also makes steps, docks, and pool areas easier to see at night.

Near the coast, salt air is hard on anything electrical that sits outside. If you already have landscape lighting and some of it has quit, corroded connections and failed fixtures are common, and we can look at what you have.

If you're starting from scratch, we'll walk the yard with you and talk about what you want lit, where the power will come from, and how it will be controlled.

A home battery keeps the house going when the power goes out, including in a hurricane. It's quiet, it doesn't need fuel, and it switches on when the grid goes down.

We can install a home battery three ways: as a standalone unit, together with a new solar system, or added to the solar you already have. If you have panels on the roof now, a battery can store that power so you can use it during an outage instead of sending it all back to the utility.

A battery isn't the right backup for every building. For long outages or big loads, a generator can be the better fit. We'll look at your panel and talk through what you want to keep running before we tell you what a battery will cover. We don't promise coverage before we've seen the house.

We work on homes in Indian River County and St. Lucie County, from Sebastian down to Port St. Lucie. Call (772) 469-6675.

When a storm takes the power out for days, a generator on the property is what keeps the lights on, the fridge cold, and the AC or fans running while the utility is still working on the lines.

We install whole-home generators, including Generac, for houses and commercial buildings in Indian River County and St. Lucie County. A standby generator sits outside, runs on fuel, and can keep going for a long time once the grid goes down.

Every house is different. The size you need depends on your panel, your AC, your well or pool pump, and what you want to keep running. We won't guess at that over the phone. We come out, look at the panel, and then tell you what we'd recommend and what it will cover.

If you're comparing a generator with a home battery, we can walk you through that too. A battery is quiet and can be charged by solar. A generator uses fuel and can run longer. Sometimes one makes more sense, sometimes the other.

Hurricane season comes around every year. Call us and we'll take a look at your setup.

Hurricane season runs through November 30, and October storms still happen on the Treasure Coast. A few electrical things are worth doing now, before the next one shows up in the forecast.

Know where your main breaker is and make sure everyone in the house can reach it. If water gets into the house, that's how you shut the power off.

If you plan to use a portable generator, never plug it into a wall outlet or a dryer outlet to power the house. It can send power back down the utility line and hurt a lineworker or a neighbor. A licensed electrician can set it up the right way.

After a storm, don't turn equipment back on if it got wet, and stay away from downed lines. If your meter, panel, or service mast got damaged, that needs an electrician before the power comes back on.

If you're tired of waiting out outages, a whole-home generator or a home battery is backup power that keeps the essentials running when the grid is down.
