Lawn Care Update: Making the Most of the Rain
After a full week of steady rainfall, our lawns are finally getting the consistent moisture they’ve been needing—and the results are showing! You may have already noticed greener, fuller growth across your yard.
With the recent rain, now is a great time to adjust your irrigation schedule. If you’ve been watering three times a week, you can safely scale back to twice a week—or even once—depending on how much rain your area continues to receive. Overwatering can do more harm than good, so dialing it back will help your lawn thrive while also conserving water.
We also want to remind everyone, especially those with St. Augustine grass, to keep mowing at the highest setting possible—between 4 to 4.5 inches. This simple adjustment makes a big difference by:
Reducing stress from heat and direct sunlight
Encouraging a deeper, more resilient root system
Helping your grass outcompete w**ds naturally
Proper mowing height and smart watering habits are key to maintaining a lush, healthy lawn year-round. If you have any questions or need help adjusting your lawn care routine, feel free to reach out—we’re here to help!
Wishing you a green and growing season,
Hurst Lawn
