We’re hiring an HR & Logistics Coordinator to join Trident Refractory Specialists.

This is a hands-on role covering HR administration, payroll processing, labour-related matters and staff logistics across a busy site-based industrial environment.

The role includes payroll processing, timesheets, attendance, leave and allowances, employee queries, disciplinary and CCMA support, staff travel, site coordination, fleet administration and insurance-related admin.

We’re looking for someone with 3-5 years’ practical HR experience, strong payroll processing knowledge and confidence working with employees, site managers and management.
Experience in a construction, engineering, industrial, manufacturing or other site-based environment will be highly advantageous.
📍 Camperdown, KZN
This is an office-based role and applicants must be willing and able to commute daily.

But without them, some of the world's biggest industries simply couldn't operate. Refractory work may happen behind the scenes. Its impact doesn't.

Day 5
After five successful days, our 2026 Refractory Training Programme has come to an end. The aim of the week was simple, to give the team a practical introduction to the refractory industry and a better understanding of the work that goes into it.
From theory to the workshop and then out into the yard, the programme gave everyone the opportunity to get involved, ask questions and get their hands dirty.
Of course, five days can only offer a glimpse into an industry as specialised as refractories. But sometimes the best way to understand what we do is to see it, handle the materials, use the equipment and have experienced people show you the ropes.
For us, the week was also about something bigger, it was about sharing knowledge and building relationships across teams.
A big thank you to every member of Trident Refractory Specialists, Cakasa Maintenance Services Limited,Refra-tek Anchors ( Division of Trident Refractory Specialists) and Quartis Ltd - Refractory Inspection Services teams who participated, demonstrated, taught, learned and helped make the programme possible.

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed having everyone together and look forward to seeing where the partnership takes us from here.
Five days complete. A great week of practical refractory training, and hopefully the beginning of much more to come.

Day 4 of the Refractory Training Programme took the team into one of the fundamentals of refractory work ,which is brickwork side.
The day was focused on practical brick installation techniques, giving the team the opportunity to work with the materials themselves and understand the workmanship that goes into building a refractory lining correctly.
And we even managed to get Mr Ashley James out of retirement for a demonstration.

After decades in the refractory industry, it didn’t take long for the trowel to come back out. Ashley James spent time demonstrating some of the bricklaying techniques and passing on the practical knowledge that can only really come from years of doing the job.
At Trident, that’s a big part of how we believe refractory skills should be taught: you can understand the theory, but you’ve also got to be able to do the job.
Another hands-on day in the yard, and a pretty special one for us.
Day 4 complete.

Day 3 of the 2026 Refractory Training Programme was all about getting hands-on with two very practical sides of refractory work, gunning and breaking out.

The Cakasa team worked through the gunning process, getting a feel for the equipment, material application and the practical techniques involved. From there, the focus moved to breaking out refractory, giving the team experience on the other side of the job too.

At Trident, that practical understanding matters. It’s not just about knowing how a refractory lining goes in ,you need to understand how the work is actually done from start to finish.

A dusty one, but a good one.
