Ophthalmologists and Practice Managers, Michael and Phil from Elite Projects are on their way to RANZCO. ✈️

We’ll be at the 57th Annual Scientific Congress in Auckland from 7 – 9 November. Eye care practices have very specific requirements: patient flow, equipment and diagnostic zones, and a calm environment for patients who may be anxious or have limited vision. Introducing Coral Sea Women’s Health, Townsville. ✨
We’re excited to share the first renders of this new women’s health clinic, designed to feel as caring as the treatment inside it.

The brief was a warm, refined space centred on women that still meets every clinical requirement. Softness runs through the whole design:

⚪ A curved reception counter in sage-toned tiles with a light timber top
⚪ Flowing curved walls and arches in place of hard corners
⚪ A blush terracotta feature wall that brings warmth to the entry
⚪ Terrazzo flooring and tactile finishes in muted, natural tones

Together they create a calm, welcoming place where patients feel supported from the moment they arrive. We can’t wait to bring this one to life for the women of North Queensland.

HEALTHCARE PRACTICES • What generalist builders tend to miss ⚠️

Most commercial builders are genuinely good at what they do. They can deliver a beautiful, functional space on time and on budget. In a standard commercial context, that is exactly what’s required.

In a healthcare context, the gaps typically appear in the places that aren’t visible until the practice is operational. Infection control workflows that create cross-contamination risks. Ventilation that complies with building code but not clinical standards. Acoustic separation that compromises confidentiality. Consultation rooms that fit the space but not the way clinicians work.

The same applies to equipment clearances, structural provisions, radiation shielding and specialised services. These elements must be coordinated around clinical requirements from day one. By the time construction starts, it’s often too late—and far more expensive—to correct them.

A veterinary practice is only as capable as the spaces it operates from. 🐾

We designed every clinical space — including the back-of-house areas — with the same level of precision and consideration as the patient-facing environment.

The in-house laboratory features purpose-built benchtops, warm timber overhead cabinetry, and dedicated diagnostic equipment zones — creating a bright, organised, and highly functional workspace that supports efficient clinical decision-making.

The treatment room delivers a fully equipped surgical and treatment environment — wrap-around cabinetry with integrated under-cabinet lighting, stainless steel surgical tables, ceiling-mounted procedure lights, a sterilisation unit, and clinical storage — all designed to support the veterinary team in delivering exceptional care under the most demanding conditions.
