She does an amazing job recording sightings, helping turtles cross roads during breeding season, and protecting nests, but she could use some help. Spent the morning volunteering with at the National Volunteer Week Habitat Restoration & BioBlitz at Bibra Lake.

We spent the day tackling invasive weeds ahead of winter planting season, recording biodiversity through iNaturalist and helping care for one of Perth’s incredible wetland ecosystems.

Conservation is not just happening in remote national parks. It is happening in local bushland reserves because ordinary people keep showing up 💪

I’m very excited (and mildly terrified) to finally say that I wrote a book!

Which is honestly wild considering this all started with me rambling online about aphids, native bees, messy gardens and why lawn p**n is ridiculous.

Rewilding Suburbia is all about habitat gardening, backyard biodiversity, growing food, native plants, misunderstood bugs, wild kids spaces and reconnecting with nature right where we are.

Basically, it’s a love letter to wild, living gardens.

This book has my whole heart in it and I genuinely can’t believe it’s a real actual thing.
Thank you for following along while I turned my backyard into a tiny ecosystem and for caring about the weird little creatures that live in it with me. This book genuinely would not exist without this community.
