Dr. Kearney Middle School in Fort St. John needed more space, fast. Construction started last July — and by this spring, the new addition was open and welcoming students.

That's roughly half the time of a traditional build, delivered through prefabricated construction from Fort Modular.

Same standards. Same durability. A fraction of the wait. That's what offsite construction means for a growing community that can't afford to wait years for classroom space.

What a day out at the 2026 ICBA - Independent Contractors and Businesses Association Golf Open.

Fort Modular was proud to sponsor and attend this year's event at the stunning Swaneset Bay Resort & Country Club. Representing our team on the course were Chuck Chow, Jordan Steiger, Nial Senchyna, and Murray Velichko. It's always a great opportunity to step away from the job site and reconnect with industry colleagues.

Beyond a fun day on the course, the event raised 75,000 dollars for ICBA Foundation apprenticeship bursaries, helping the next generation of skilled trades professionals offset the cost of technical training. That's a cause worth celebrating.

Thank you to ICBA for putting together another great event, we're already looking forward to next year.

Fort Modular proudly delivered Lynn Fripps Elementary, the school where Minister Bowinn Ma stood to announce further pre-fabricated school additions across the province.

The recent announcement highlights new investments adding hundreds of student spaces in growing communities, including Langley. We've now completed two permanent expansions for the Langley School District #35, including this one at Lynn Fripps.

That project added a two storey, 18 module expansion with six new classrooms and 150 new student seats.

Quality control is one of the many modular advantages. For starters, modular buildings are subject to the same building codes as site-built projects and are inspected under CSA A277 for compliance and consistency. Additionally, modular units are typically built to higher tolerances to withstand transport and craning—a standard that varies with panelized construction.

Where conventional construction leaves materials exposed to the elements and relies on site labour and varying trade skills, our builds are fabricated in a fully controlled factory environment where consistent processes ensure each unit meets the same high standard at every factory across the province.
