For decades, we’ve been asking conventional concrete to do two jobs.
To be the structure... and the finished floor.
As architecture evolved, our expectations changed. Larger windows. Cleaner lines. Radiant heating. Seamless transitions. Yet we’re still asking a structural slab to deliver architectural perfection.
After more than 25 years working with concrete, I realized we were trying to solve the wrong problem.
That realization led to Cast Stone Floors.
This isn’t about replacing craftsmanship. It’s about giving craftsmanship the right canvas.
Every floor is poured by hand. Ground by hand. Finished by hand.
Because the floor shouldn’t simply support the architecture.
It should become part of it.

Nestled across from Chesterman Beach in Tofino, this project pushed the limits of what a concrete overlay can be. From intricate brass details and challenging site conditions to endless ocean views, every square foot demanded precision. Follow along as we place, grind, and finish a custom floor designed to complement one of the most incredible properties on Vancouver Island.

Palladian terrazzo, but not the way you expect it.
Stone laid by hand, then poured in place and ground back to reveal the pattern.�What looks like tile is actually one continuous surface.
Every piece is placed with intention, then the grinder does the final edit.�Controlled chaos… until it all comes together.
This one turned out unreal.
