Part 2: The Ribbon

Great architecture is about more than buildings—it’s about people.

One of the things that stood out during our visit to The Ribbon was how intentionally the development connects with the surrounding neighbourhood. From introducing us to local business owners to sharing the vision behind the project, Ed reminded us that successful development doesn’t happen in isolation—it strengthens the community around it.

A sincere thank you to Ed Carrington for your hospitality, your time, and for giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the work you’re doing. We also appreciated the opportunity to meet some of the local business owners who are helping make the East English Village neighbourhood thrive.

This is the kind of city-building we’re excited to see.

Part 1: The Ribbon

We recently had the opportunity to visit The Ribbon and see firsthand the vision and momentum behind this exciting Detroit project.

Developed by Ed Carrington with Flux City, The Ribbon is an example of the bold thinking, investment, and commitment that continues to move the city forward.

We always appreciate the chance to learn from and celebrate impactful work, even when it isn’t our own. Visiting projects like The Ribbon allows us to connect with the people shaping Detroit’s future and strengthen relationships with colleagues who are doing meaningful work across the city.

While many conversations about Detroit’s growth focus on downtown, it’s inspiring to see transformative projects creating momentum throughout the city as well.

We love our neighbours in Ford City! We get excited anytime we have a chance to be part of the revitalization, and this project certainly fits that bill.

Introducing Drouillard Townhomes — a thoughtfully designed 15-unit development bringing modern, urban living to one of Windsor’s most vibrant and evolving communities. Each townhome features 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and its own dedicated entrance, creating a comfortable sense of individuality and home.

New waterfront build on Lake St. Clair

This custom waterfront home is starting to take shape — designed within an extremely tight footprint and brought to life through close coordination with ERCA and a successful minor variance process. Every square foot was carefully considered to maximize light, views, and connection to the lake.

Progress is moving quickly, and this one is all about the views 🌊

Behind every dream home is a story—and for the Kolodziejski family, it was a journey filled with patience, perseverance, and trust through every challenge along the way.
