All around my house I have memories of my previous life travelling the world -
The turquoise vase on the mantelpiece is from Cuenca, Ecuador, the flower vase from a market in Sardinia, a painting of islands on the west coast of Scotland (a wedding gift),
the gourds from Peru, the miniature painting from an old friend Rikki Tollenaere, Textile Artist in Mallorca, windowsill vase from the South of France ……
The mini Belleek cottage was an extra from gifts my parents gave to fellow sailors when they went to present the Lipton Cup to the successful challenger for the Americas Cup in Auckland NZ in 2000 when my sister and I were travelling there. The list goes on …
Some friends questioned when we moved back to N Ireland in 2014 If we would get bored here but to me this was just the next adventure- setting up a home, creating a family, new friends and best of all introducing my little boys to all the excitement and opportunities that life offers and they can also be on your doorstep not just at the end of a plane journey.
Love your life , make memories, don’t save it for a rainy day as you just never know what’s round the corner - life is for living - take that trip even if it’s to somewhere round the corner!
Ps thank u Millbank Farm for the most fabulous field right next door to provide me with the flowers !
You genuinely couldn’t buy better ones in a shop or for less!!!
