A proper statement piece !

Bespoke circular wine rack made for a local pub in Westward Ho! that had wagon wheels as part of the decor and wanted to match in. It also needed to be lockable so lockable doors were needed, with built-in lighting and display niches.

Really enjoyed making this one ,definitely not your standard wine rack!

Getting the primer on . This is the foundation s of a good finish.
I’m using Akvi Primer. This is a love drop of paint , really quick drying and the sanding of it 👌🏼.

This is one if the ways you can scribe. I flick between this method and using a compass to follow the profile.
Im going to be spraying this one after it’s built.

What’s your favourite way to scribe?

Prep is 80% of the finish. This is the other 20%.
Sprayed, not brushed. Sanded between every coat. No shortcuts, no orange peel.
This is why it’s worth doing properly.

When you’ve got a high spot in the floor and your skirting rocks on it, don’t force it down. Place two offcuts of the same skirting under each end, either side of the high spot. Then use a third offcut as a scribing block and run it along the floor to mark the skirting. Cut to the line, and it’ll sit flat with a perfect fit.

Repeat cuts used to mean measure, mark, cut, repeat, and hope they matched.Back and forth constantly but these Hotrods are a dream from .builds and makes the perfect accessory to my festool set up.

The little details nobody sees once the sash is back together. Every cord gets a figure eight knot tied by hand into the weight not random, it’s chosen because it seats securely but can still be undone in 50 years when the cord needs replacing again. Small thing, but it’s the difference between a window that runs smooth for another century and one that’s back in bits.

A cost effective transformation for a rental property.

The landlord wanted to refresh the kitchen while keeping costs down. The vinyl on the cabinet doors had started to peel, but instead of replacing the whole kitchen, we professionally prepared and resprayed it.

The result is a clean, modern, durable finish that gives the kitchen a whole new lease of life without the cost and disruption of a full replacement.

A great example of how the right preparation and finish can completely transform a space.

What do you think of the transformation? Would you respray or replace? 👇
