A new home for early years learning has arrived!

Last week, we were proud to successfully hand over Kids Planet’s brand-new nursery in Sandymoor, Runcorn.

The 5,500 sq ft nursery was completed on time and to our usual high standards, thanks to the hard work of Ashley Taylor, Tony Corr, Max Webster and Sue Ashton. The new learning space is now fully furnished and ready to welcome its first children in early September. ✨

A successful project is always a team effort, so we’d like to thank the client’s design team for their continued support: Gary Boyle at Gary Boyle Associates, John Lingard at Design and Jonathan Hayes at STL Projects Ltd.

We’d also like to thank for continuing to put their trust in Short Construction. It’s been a pleasure to work alongside the team and see their growth over the past few years.

A new chapter is taking shape in the heart of Stockport! 🏗️✨

At Overbanks, the apartment scheme is bringing modern living to the town centre.

We are thrilled to share that roof construction on the new wing is now nearing completion. This site will soon transition into a vibrant community where people live, connect, and make new memories.

We’re incredibly proud to be delivering this development on behalf of Britannia Group, directly supporting the ongoing regeneration of Short Construction’s home town.

One year at Short Construction. 👷‍♂️

Site Manager Rob Dunley reflects on a year of learning and collaboration, working across both the operations and commercial sides of the business to keep projects running effectively.

Welcome to the team, Paula! 🤝

Paula joins us as a Part-Time Administrator. As the workload has grown, we needed an extra pair of hands to support our Directors’ PA and Office Manager, Vanessa and the office team with general administrative duties and Paula is the right fit.

She brings a wealth of experience in the construction industry and in Personal Assistant roles.

We are happy to have Paula on the Short Construction team!

A-level results are out today, and thousands of young people will be thinking seriously about what comes next. We hope construction is firmly on their list. 🏗️

Construction is not one career path. It is hundreds. From architecture, engineering and quantity surveying to bricklaying, plumbing, joinery, landscaping, design and project management, there is a route for almost every skill set and ambition.

At Short Construction, we believe everyone in the sector has a part to play. By supporting apprentices, trainees, school leavers and graduates as they take their first steps into the industry, we can help build a stronger construction sector across the UK and, importantly for us, here in the North West.

We are officially underway with Project Savannah, a stunning, bespoke family home featuring a detached luxury leisure suite in the heart of Cheshire.

Here is what our team has been up to on-site:

✨ Site setup and welfare facilities are fully operational.
🚜 Groundworks have officially commenced.
💥 Sheet piling is complete, securing the zone for the massive leisure suite basement.
⛏️ Basement excavation is already 50% complete.
🏗️ Half of the steel casings for the foundations are in place.

🏗️We have had an amazing start to our new project in Lymm, which comprises the construction of five high-end new-build homes.🏡

🧱Groundworks have commenced across all five plots, with the substructure masonry now complete on three of the plots. It's been a fantastic start by the team, who have maintained excellent progress while delivering the high standards of quality expected on a development of this calibre.

We look forward to sharing further updates as the project continues to take shape over the coming months.
