A huge congratulations to Brendan, our R&D Director, on reaching this milestone.

If you’ve worked with Brendan, you’ll know the level of thought, detail and persistence he brings. A lot of what we build today has his fingerprints on it – alongside a strong team around him that’s been pushing ideas forward year after year.

Together, they’ve helped drive real innovation across the business.. from everyday improvements to developments that have even led to patented technology.

It’s the kind of contribution that builds up over time and makes a real difference.

More engineering champions in the building 💫

Another great training session – this time with the Otis team at our Croydon facility.

We’ve been running more and more of these sessions recently and it’s been great to see the demand growing. 👀

There’s something different about getting everyone in the room, hands-on with the equipment, sharing experiences and learning from each other. That’s where real confidence is built.

🏃🏻The Countdown is on!! ⚡️

With just a couple of days to go, Darren is deep into training for the 2026 London Marathon, running in support of Blind Veterans UK.

Every mile he’s putting in helps raise awareness and funds for a charity that supports blind and vision-impaired veterans to rebuild independence and confidence after service.

Trainings in in full swing at HQ 💪

Great to have the team from Murray Lift Group with us for a hands-on session 👏

Always valuable to step away from site and spend time building deeper understanding.. not just of the systems but of the thinking behind them. From controller setup to practical fault finding, sessions like these are all about giving engineers the confidence to work faster, smarter and more independently in the field.

We really appreciate the engagement from the team – plenty of good questions and a strong focus on getting the details right.

Looking forward to continuing the partnership!

🎬 Pulling Back the Curtain for Future Talent

We recently welcomed Ben, a Year 9 student from Carshalton Boys Sports College, to Lester Controls for his work shadowing experience.

Throughout the day, Ben had the chance to meet different teams across the business and get a glimpse behind the scenes of how our lift control systems are designed, built and supported.
It’s always rewarding to open the doors and give young people an insight into the many career paths within engineering, manufacturing and business.

A big thank you to the team for taking the time to share their knowledge and experience.

We wish Ben all the best for the future and hope the day helped spark some inspiration.

After an 11-year break, he’s back training, pushing himself and putting in the miles for a cause that helps blind and vision-impaired veterans rebuild their independence and confidence.

🌊 Wave 2 is officially in the building! 🛗

The momentum continues at Lester HQ as we welcomed the second group of engineers from Griffin Elevators Ltd for their advanced technical deep-dive.

When a company invests this heavily in their team’s expertise, you know they mean business. Led by Mike Turner, this session shifted gears to ensure the Griffin team is fully equipped for any site challenge.

It’s one thing to install a lift.. it’s another to understand its "brain." Huge respect to this second cohort for the sharp questions and the "get-stuck-in" attitude.

Griffin Elevators + Team Lester = A higher standard for the industry. 🤝

💪 Training Day with Griffin Elevators 🛗

Great to welcome Jack Quartermain, Marcel Boone and Alex Ladiero from Griffin Elevators Ltd to HQ for a hands-on session led by our very own tech wizard, Bradley Burnett.

The day was strategically tailored and covered:

🔹 The evolution from MP500 to Almega 2
🔹 Ziehl and Magnetek drive settings
🔹 Positioning systems - from tapehead to CEDES and direct-to-floor approaches
🔹 Completing autotunes and learn runs
🔹 Navigating the menu structure to interrogate faults with confidence

Plenty of good questions, practical discussions and real-world scenarios throughout.. exactly how technical training should be!

Always a pleasure working with engineers who are keen to learn and get stuck in.

Looking forward to welcoming the Griffin team back soon.

Infinity Lifts – First Training Visit of 2026 🚀

We were delighted to welcome back Infinity Lifts Ireland to HQ for their first training session of the year.

Led by Jamie Proud, the session focused on hands-on controller knowledge, system setup and practical insights to support engineers with confidence on site.

Training like this strengthens collaboration, builds technical clarity and ensures our partners get the very best from our systems.
