Getting the studio ready today for North East Open Studios beginning on 12th September and in amongst a stack of unused pristine white canvases I came upon this large painting done while snowed in! I had completely forgotten about it! I am running out of wall space so there will be "sale" corner with big discounts on original oils and acrylics. Plus lots of affordable prints, coasters, cards etc. Venue 131 near Mintlaw. Look for the yellow signs! www.joycetaylorart.co.uk

On Friday I had a text from a lady who was on holiday in Crovie and she wanted to come to the studio that afternoon to buy coasters. She had been to The Gamrie Gift Company and they had just run out........I was already en route to Gardestown in the most awful weather with torrential rain, flooded roads and thick fog! It was like rally driving, a hobby I don't intend taking up! I asked if she could wait for 30mins and she said yes, they would wait in the pub.Good excuse eh? 😆 I am glad to say she got her coasters and The Gamrie Gift Company is now fully stocked with coasters, cards, clocks, mugs etc. If you haven't been it is an amazing shop....my go to place for presents with a stock that changes with the seasons. I got myself some lovely earrings too!

Finally finished this one of Gamrie Harbour........once framed it'll be ready of North East Open Studios. Come and see it at plus around 30 more originals, plus prints, cards and giftware. Venue 131 - NEOS 12th -20th September

Almost finished.........a few area to work on still and problems to solve but it needs a few days to dry first before I can do anymore. I aim to have it finished this week and once the paint is dry enough to frame, it will be off to Lesley at Frameworks Gallery Aberdeen. Hoping to have it ready for North East Open Studios 12th - 20th September. I need a coffee now having made one earlier and forgetting about it. Occupational hazard....teas and coffees are often cold by the time I remember them!

Glass coasters arrived today ready for North East Open Studios.....pick and mix from 9 different views or boxed sets of 4. All NE coastal scenes or Amalfi Lemons from my original paintings. Greetings cards delivered too.....34 different ones with NE coastal views, NE rural landscapes and still lifes. It's beginning to feel like NEOS time again! A painting in progress.....still lots to do to it before North East Open Studios beginning 12th September. Look out for the yellow books! Hoping to get this one finished and framed in time although I need the paint to dry before I can go back to it.
