Tavistock Project — COMPLETE! 🔥

What a transformation.
From an overgrown, unusable garden to a completely bespoke outdoor space — the Tavistock Project is now complete and ready for the next phase: construction of the new games room at the end of the garden.

This has been a massive logistical project, requiring careful planning, coordination and precision throughout — but importantly, delivered on schedule.

The finished project includes:

- Reinforced concrete base ready for the new games room
- Stunning large-format porcelain patio with contrasting dark border detail
- Ultra-slimline ACO drainage system
- Gorgeous charcoal composite decking with full-width stepped transition
- Bespoke flame-grilled redwood Venetian-style fencing, wrapping the garden and giving the entire space a truly distinctive finish

The before-and-after on this one is something else. What started as a heavily overgrown garden has been completely re-engineered into a modern, private and incredibly usable outdoor space.

We don't say it often… but we're genuinely jealous of this one! 😂

If there was ever a garden tempting us to relocate Trade Bank HQ, this might just be it.

Lipson Road Project – We’re Heading Up! 🧱🏗️

Another big stage reached at our Lipson Road project, and the scale of this transformation is really starting to show.

Phase 1 is almost complete, with some serious groundwork and structural construction now behind us:

- Second reinforced footing poured and secured
- Existing house downpipe drainage completely updated and redirected
- 40mm clean stone drainage layer installed
- MOT Type 1 introduced and compacted progressively in 300mm layers
- Construction of the substantial 18-inch retaining wall well underway
- Wall transitions to 9-inch construction for the final three courses
- Mechanical restraint incorporated into the retaining structure
- Careful management of levels, drainage and compaction throughout

Phase 1 completes tomorrow.

Then comes the part that's going to completely change the appearance of this project — the reclaimed Victorian red face brickwork.

We've spent the early stages building what ultimately won't be seen, but it's this groundwork, drainage and structural preparation that will allow the finished project to stand the test of time.

Once that reclaimed brick starts going on, this one is going to come alive and reconnect the frontage with the character of the Victorian property. 🔥

Our most ambitious project yet is officially underway.

What began as a straightforward garden clearance has evolved into a truly spectacular transformation.

After months of careful planning, design work and logistical preparation, the aim is to completely reimagine this frontage while creating something that feels as though it has always belonged to this beautiful Victorian property.

This project will be a showcase of traditional materials, structural landscaping, precision groundwork and craftsmanship across multiple disciplines — all brought together through detailed project management from start to finish.

The first major stages are now complete:
• Full clearance and initial excavations
• Front boundary wall footing excavated and poured
• New 9-inch masonry retaining wall underway
• Ground opened up and prepared for the next structural elevation

Approximately 1 metre behind the front wall, a further 18-inch blockwork retaining structure will rise to form and retain the upper platform, which will eventually be finished with stunning cathedral-grade Yorkstone paving.

The next stage sees us forming the shuttering and preparing the footing for this second retaining structure before the levels begin to take shape.
The difference already is enormous — but this is only the groundwork.

By the time this project is complete, the frontage will combine reclaimed-style brickwork, traditional stone, wrought iron detailing and carefully considered landscaping to create a genuine time-capsule transformation in keeping with the Victorian era of the property.

A huge amount of engineering, planning and craftsmanship sits behind what will eventually look beautifully simple.

Tavistock Project Update 🔥

What a transformation on this one! From the overgrown garden we first walked into, this Tavistock project is really starting to come together.

✅ Charcoal composite decking installed, complete with a full-width stepped transition into the garden

✅ Porcelain patio laid, finished with contrasting dark borders and pointing

✅ Reinforced concrete base completed, ready to house the client’s new games room

🔜 Next up – Venetian-style perimeter fencing to finish the garden and tie the whole design together
A huge amount of groundwork, preparation and precision has gone into getting the different levels and finishes working together, and the result is a really clean, contemporary outdoor space.

The before-and-after difference already speaks for itself — and we’re not finished yet.

Another project taking shape to the highest standard.

Our Tavistock transformation is progressing exactly as planned, with every stage completed using precision, experience and attention to detail.

✅ Reinforced concrete workshop base installed and finished to specification.
✅ Premium porcelain patio laid with stunning mitre-cut charcoal borders, complemented by anthracite pointing to create a clean, contemporary finish.
✅ Structural framework now installed for a 24m² charcoal composite decking area, featuring a full-width grand transition step that will seamlessly connect the patio to the raised entertaining space.

Next up is one of our signature finishes – soft-edge Redwood Venetian fencing, bringing privacy, warmth and a truly premium architectural look to complete the transformation.

It's fantastic to see another garden evolving from the ground up into a space that's been carefully designed, expertly constructed and built to last.

Another huge milestone reached at our Lucas Lane transformation. 👌

This project is really starting to come together.

✅ Stunning vertical Venetian fencing now fully completed, creating a clean, contemporary boundary that completely transforms the space.
✅ ACO drainage system installed with precision to ensure long-term surface water management.
✅ Front soakaway constructed and connected to current drainage regulations.
✅ Rear patio now underway, with the natural limestone paving being laid on a fully prepared and compacted sub-base to achieve the perfect finish.

Every stage of this project has been built from the ground up with meticulous preparation, laser-level accuracy and industry best practice. It's the unseen work beneath the surface that guarantees a patio will still be performing and looking fantastic years down the line.

✔️ Full UK driving licence
✔️ UTR number (self-employed)

Another hugely productive few days for the Trade Bank team, with two major projects making fantastic progress through careful planning, skilled workmanship and attention to every detail.

🏡 Lucas Lane Project

The transformation continues...
✅ Front boundary walls built and ready for their final rendered finish with coping stones. ✅ Premium vertical Venetian fencing progressing beautifully, with the matching run now being replicated on the opposite boundary. ✅ Bespoke matching balustrades still to come, tying the whole project together with a clean, contemporary finish.

Every line, level and joint has been completed with precision to ensure a finish that will look just as good in 20 years as it does today.

🏗️ Tavistock Project

The 30m² reinforced concrete workshop base has now fully cured after being carefully monitored and watered throughout the critical first 48 hours following the pour.
This level of aftercare is what protects the investment and delivers the strongest possible finish.

Now it's time for the exciting stage...
