Have a look at this lovely transformation over in Longridge by Nic and the guys at NJC Construction 😍

A complete makeover of the patio area and paths leading up to the property using our beautiful Verona Britstone White Porcelain Paving, Edged off with 900x150mm wide Minster Black Porcelain Strips and finished off with Nexus Rapidflow Porcelain Grout.

The lads have also added a small wall at the kerbside of the property, creating a fabulous feature entrance using Ibstock Calderstone Claret Facing bricks to match the house, which leads on to the porcelain pathway.

A simply lovely transformation, to create a beautiful outdoor area. 🤌🏻

Altys Builders Merchants would like to offer our account customers the opportunity to attend a Chorley FC match during the 2026/2027 season on us!

We have purchased 4 Chorley FC season tickets, which we would like to make available exclusively to our account customers to use, just as a small token of our appreciation for your custom throughout the year! 🤝🏻

If you have an account with us and would like to make use of these tickets for you, along with your family, friends or colleagues, simply get in touch with your local branch and we will be happy to assist.

Tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis. We would like to make these available to as many of our customers as possible, so we will try and allocated them to someone who hasn’t used them if we get multiple requests for the same date. There is no limit to how many times any one account customer can request to use the tickets. If we get more than one applicant for the same match day, we will put all the names in to a hat and they will be drawn at random.

These tickets are available to use at Chorley’s next home game this bank holiday Monday vs Merthyr Town, so get in touch if you’d like to go, and we will do our best to accommodate you!

🚧 CUSTOMER NOTICE 🚧

We will be closed this upcoming bank holiday Monday. Both branches will close on Friday 28th August 2026 at 4:00pm, and re open on Tuesday 1st September 2026 at 7:30am.

Tobermore Shannon Slate block paving, edged off with Tobermore Sienna Silver. There is also some fantastic detail on the steps too, using Tobermore KL Kerbs in charcoal, along with External corners to give them the best possible finish. Great work from Mark, Euan, Matt, Ben and Riley! 👏🏻👏🏻

Well today’s the day we say goodbye to Robbo who is hanging up his drivers hat and settling in to retired life at home with his wife Helen and son Josh.

Robbo has worked for Alty’s for just over 20 years, well we use the term “work” very loosely, turning up would probably be more appropriate 🤣.

Robbo joined us back in February 2006 which was Alty’s Horticultural days where he worked in the stores department of our Hesketh Bank branch. Then Robbo moved to the Much Hoole branch in 2018 where he began his illustrious driving career on the transit van.

Robbo has created a great rapport with his colleagues and customers over the years, and despite the fact his delivery van very rarely got out of first gear, we will all miss him dearly!

All the best for the future Robbo, don’t be a stranger. You know you are welcome here at Alty’s anytime your passing for a brew and a catch up, that’s if your not too busy watching Southport FC finish below Chorley in the National League North!

🚨WE ARE HIRING🚨

Robbo has decided to stop turning up for work as of the end of this week! (He’s finally retiring!) Though I’m sure he will miss us and will be begging us to come back within a couple of weeks🤣, we are on the lookout for his replacement.

We are looking for a Van Driver/Yard Assistant based at our Much Hoole Branch. You will be predominantly delivering building materials on our transit tipper van to customer sites and home addresses, but you will also be expected to be flexible and help out in the yard once all deliveries are complete.

What We Are Looking For:
A valid driving licence, knowledge of the local area and experience of multi drop deliveries is essential for this role, while it will also include some heavy lifting and carrying. You will be willing to get stuck in, and have a friendly and positive can do attitude towards customers and colleagues.

What We Offer:
Excellent rates of pay, no weekend working, workplace pension scheme, generous discretionary bonus paid at the end of the year, staff discounts, 21 days holidays plus bank holidays.

A nice little extension going up in Chorley today. Our customer needed some extra space in their home, and building an extension was far more cost effective than moving homes.

Great to drop on site in Longton today to see what progress the lads on site are making with this brand new family home that we are currently supplying.

Our customer has chosen the very popular Kassandra Multi facing bricks from wienerberger UK which are looking lovely. The Posi Joists are in, lintels installed and the Cabershield Eco Flooring is now going down on the first floor.

Cabershield Eco Floorboard which we stock in branch from West Fraser, is the normal tough Caberfloor P5 Moisture resistant floor board, that is also topped with a uv cured resin which creates a permanent waterproof coating. This is ideal when the flooring is going to be exposed to the elements for a period of time before the build is made watertight. It also provides a slip resistant working platform that withstands high foot traffic while other elements of the build are also being completed.

Good Morning, unfortunately we are experiencing a power cut at our Much Hoole branch this morning which is effecting both Much Hoole and Chorley branches as our main servers are located at Much Hoole. As a result our phones and computers have all been down this morning. We have brought in a back up generator to try and rectify this, so we are hoping to restore our phones and computers very soon.
