Mystery Month : The Story of Mary, Queen of Scots 👑🔍 "... in my end is my beginning"
As part of the Mystery Month theme, we travelled back in time to discover the fascinating and mysterious story of Mary, Queen of Scots 👀
Born in 1542, Mary became Queen of Scotland when she was just six days old. Her life was filled with royal intrigue, political struggles,love,betrayal and unanswered questions. Raised in France alongside her four companions, famously known as "The Four Marys", she later returned to Scotland to rule her kingdom 👸
One of the highlights of our visit was the wonderful opportunity to meet and talk to the Four Marys themselves, dressed in beautiful period costumes, just as they would have appeared in those days!👗 This brought history to life and made the experience even more special✨
We learned about Mary's royal life,her turbulent marriages, the mysterious death of Lord Darnley and her tragic fate. Found guilty of treason in 1586, Mary was executed at Fotheringhay Castle on 8th of February 1587, dressed in red,the traditional colour of martyrdom.
It was a lovely opportunity to step back in time, ask questions, share stories and explore the mysteries surrounding one of Scotland's most fascinating queens together 🏰📚
