DMW Architects

DMW Architects DMW is an established, RIBA-chartered practice based in southern England, delivering award-winning architecture.

DMWA Ltd - Daly Martin Williams Architects are a Dorset based practice covering all areas of the South. We collaborate with private, commercial and public clients across a broad spectrum of sectors providing design solutions for projects of all scales. The directors have worked for notable practices including Western Design, John Pardey and Richard Rogers Architects. We have completed RIBA award w

inning schemes whilst working for our former practices and our work has been widely published. The practice prides itself on maximising the potential for each site and strives to make each commission personal and unique. We have a rigorous approach to the design process; we fully test ideas and seek to balance creative thinking with the practicalities of construction and cost. Clients are at the heart of what we do and we hope to translate their ideas into a vision which will provide a lasting legacy. Architecture is not about a set of drawings, it is about the quality of design and how in turn this can be detailed and constructed elegantly, efficiently and affordably.

What a week it’s been to enjoy our completed project

Designed by DMW in collaboration with the client, this dynamic scheme merges coastal leisure with an innovative architectural approach, bringing together a series of repurposed shipping containers, a double-decker bus, and a tiki bar to create an inviting social space.

A huge congratulations to our very own Lotta on graduating this month with her RIBA Part 2 Diploma in Architecture through the RIBA Studio programme.

Her hard work and dedication have truly paid off, as anyone in the industry knows this is no easy course.

We’re incredibly proud of you, Lotta. Here’s to the next exciting chapter in your architectural journey! 🏛️✨

In this world shaped ever more by technology and AI, we’ve enjoyed going through some of our hand drawings, they remind us where our ideas began and why creativity still matters!
“If we loose the art of architectural drawing, we risk losing a vital part of our profession’s soul. It is our responsibility as architects to preserve this tradition, to pass on the craft to future generations, and to ensure that architecture remains as much about creativity and human expression as it is about technology and efficiency.” - Director Ryan Martin

Great to spend time with Sara Glen and the team discussing the next phase of projects at the newly completed centre.

HHO is a charity and Community Benefit Society that has worked incredibly hard over the past year to create an inclusive outdoor wellbeing hub, welcoming a wide range of user groups and encouraging meaningful connection with the surrounding natural landscape.

DMW Architects have been pleased to support the project from the early stages through concept design, development and technical drawings, and we’re now working with user groups to explore new structures and spaces within the grounds.

A truly inspiring initiative and a fantastic team behind it.

We’re pleased to be moving into the technical design stage for the new café at Mudeford Sandspit, following planning approval earlier this year.

Set within the special landscape of Hengistbury Head, the project sits in a highly sensitive coastal setting, requiring a construction approach that is both carefully considered and environmentally responsible.

The building is being developed using modular construction elements, allowing components to be fabricated off-site and delivered in smaller parts that can be manually handled and assembled quickly. This approach will help minimise disturbance to visitors, neighbours and the surrounding SSSI landscape, while enabling an efficient build process on the peninsula.

We look forward to sharing further updates as the project progresses towards construction.
