At Val Lodge, our team delivered a complete package of works, from groundwork and reinforced concrete structures through to the installation of limestone tiling and precision-set granite features.

The entrance is defined by solid granite pillars crafted from Portuguese Rose Monforte granite, finished with a bush-hammered texture to enhance both durability and visual character. The Renaissance marked a turning point in architectural design, reintroducing the classical principles of symmetry, proportion, and refined stone detailing that continue to influence buildings today. From sculpted cornices and columns to carefully balanced façades, stone craftsmanship became both an engineering discipline and an art form.

Many of the techniques developed during this period remain central to modern masonry, where traditional detailing is often reinterpreted within contemporary architecture. It’s a reminder that some of the most forward-thinking design ideas are rooted in centuries of skilled craftsmanship.

At Weighbridge Square, the paving scheme was designed to combine heritage character with long-term durability. A mix of paving and kerbing in French Breton Rouge and Swedish Bohuslän granite was carefully selected, with each stone receiving a combination of four specialised finishes to achieve a naturally “aged” appearance that complements the surrounding architecture.

French salvaged granite setts were also incorporated, adding further authenticity and depth to the overall design while supporting sustainable material reuse.

A project that demonstrates how thoughtful material selection and expert finishing techniques can bring both history and longevity into modern public spaces.

At Charing Cross, the paving design combined both durability and visual character through the use of Portuguese and Spanish granite setts and paving. Two complementary finishes - flamed and tumbled, alongside bush-hammered textures - were carefully selected to create subtle contrast, enhance slip resistance, and ensure long-term performance in a high-traffic public environment.

For this private client project, Le Pelley supplied and installed a bespoke black polished granite fireplace, creating a bold, elegant centrepiece with a timeless finish.

The granite was precision cut and edge polished using our 5-axis CNC bridge saw, combining advanced technology with the craftsmanship and attention to detail of our skilled stonemasons.
