Project: Half Moon Bay Minor Dwelling

We have recently completed the full plumbing and drainage scope for a new minor dwelling project in Half Moon Bay. This involved piping out and installing the new fixtures offsite in the warehouse, before the building was transported. We pre-ran drainage connections onsite, ready for the house to land. Once the building had been dropped in place, we completed the final connections, tank and water meter installations.

This house extension required relocation of the existing house connection to be further downstream to achieve the correct fall for the new extension lines. We managed the process with Watercare and Council from submitting the request and providing the proposed approach, to executing the changeover. It was a lengthy process, but we finally managed to get the clients house extension live for them.

Project: St Heliers Pumped Cesspit

This client was having flooding issues in their lower house section. The solution was to install a pumped cesspit in place of the existing one, to drain naturally in normal situations, but for the pump to kick in during extreme weather conditions and discharge through the pumped outlet line into the garden. The tiles in the area were also porous so the team made a huge effort to keep these protected during the install for the client.

This client has had multiple leaks under their concrete driveway over the years. As part of their project to reconcrete the driveway, we were able to replace all service lines running through this area. We improved runs and minimised joins, ensuring that any mechanical joins could be accessed in future for peace of mind. We also re-benched a private manhole to finish off. The concrete pour is up next.

Renovations are well underway here at Selwyn College, where we are completely modernising the staff bathrooms from the ground-up. With all fixtures changing locations, this required a lot of cutting and breaking to be able to install our wastes in the required positions.
