The Japan Homes Magazine Oct - Nov 2026 / NZ No. 11 Issue is live now!

This issue opens our doors a little wider. Our feature introduces My Japan Homes, the new Japan Homes Client Portal, where New Zealand clients can follow their build, see photos and daily reports, approve decisions and keep every document in one place.

Our Founder, Mickey Okabe, reports on the New Zealand and Australian markets and on how going digital will bring our clients better value. In JPH Manga Vol 7, one stray screw on a building site teaches our apprentice the meaning of 凡事徹底.

You will also find progress from our Auckland sites, summer-ready maintenance tips, cedar Roman shades as the first step in our new Japandi Living series, and Mickey's quote of the month on quality, time and money.

Your build, in full view: meet My Japan Homes, our new client portal for progress, photos and payments. Plus the NZ market report, JPH Manga Vol 7 凡事徹底, a Room Tour, summer-ready home tips, cedar Roman shades to begin Japandi Living, and Mickey’s quote on quality, time and money.

What is Japandi?

In this short video, Sui from Japan Homes explains Japandi in a clear and simple way.

Japandi brings together the best of Japanese and Scandinavian design:
• Simplicity and natural materials from Japan
• Warmth, comfort and connection to nature from Scandinavia

You’ll discover:
• What makes Japandi special
• Its strong points
• How it differs from pure minimalism and traditional interiors

Japandi creates spaces that feel calm without being cold, and refined without being formal — perfect for everyday homes in New Zealand and Australia.

Japan Homes Magazine July - August 2026 / No. 8 Issue is online now!!

As the Oceania winter begins to transition toward the first whispers of spring, we focus on the theme of "Offensive Asset Protection."

In this month’s President’s Message, our Director Mickey-san exposes the "Patience Trap" in the current market, urging investors to shift their focus toward Building Economics rather than waiting for the storm to pass.

We are also excited to showcase our JPH Manga, illustrating the core philosophy of "Kaizen"— the power of small things on continuous improvement for endless growth. Additionally, this issue guides you through planning a Spring Zen retreat, explores the technical logic behind the Japanese door designs, and provides essential winter maintenance tips. We have also introduced the new "Room Tour" pages which showcase our completed house projects.

In a challenging economy, we remain committed to eliminating valueless tasks and obsessing over high-value results.
