Harbour View Renovation | A Work in Progress
What a difference a wall can make! Removing a wall has opened up the kitchen and living areas, revealing stunning views across the harbour and created a more connected, open-plan space.
New sliding doors bring the outlook in, while vintage bi-folding windows have been relocated and given a new lease on life. The existing timber floors have also been sanded, ready for oiling.
With the layout taking on a new shape, it’s exciting to see this renovation coming together. More to come!

GMW Jewellery | The New Store
And just like that, GMW Jewellery has moved into their new space!
We loved working with the team to design and fit out the store, creating more room to showcase their beautiful jewellery and a space that feels light, airy and welcoming from the moment you walk in.
The team are loving the result, with more room to work and the increased foot traffic that comes with their new location.

Beachfront Renovation | The Details

It's often the details that quietly define a project. Repeating materials throughout the home creates rhythm and cohesion, while carefully considered joinery, lighting and finishes ensures every element feels intentional.

After working on the design and documentation of this project, its great to see it starting to take shape on site.

Beachfront Renovation | Bathrooms
Bathrooms are often the smallest rooms in the home, yet they can have the biggest impact on how a day begins and ends.
In this beach house, a carefully restrained palette of stone and timber creates a space that's both calming and enduring, bringing a little everyday luxury into daily routines.

Beachfront Renovation | Living Spaces
The spaces we inhabit shape the way we feel, often in ways we don't consciously notice. Natural light, connection to the outdoors, texture, and materiality all play a role in how comfortable, energised, and at ease we are.
Our recent beach house renovation in Rarangi is a great example of how thoughtful design can transform not just the way a home looks, but how it feels. While the views were always spectacular, the interior lacked cohesion, felt disconnected, and struggled to capture the quality of light outside.
By improving the flow of spaces, reorienting light, and introducing textures and finishes to contrast and enhance each other and the surrounding landscape, the home now feels brighter, calmer and more connected to its surroundings. The result is a space that lifts the mood, invites relaxation, and makes everyday living more enjoyable.

Beachfront Renovation | The Kitchen

The kitchen became the social heart of the home. Designed to bring family and friends together, the space balances practicality with warmth through natural stone, walnut cabinetry and a restrained material palette that feels both sophisticated and relaxed.

Beachfront Renovation | The Vision & Solving the Layout

Every great renovation starts with a conversation. For this beachside get-away, our clients wanted more than an updated interior - they wanted a home that embraced its incredible setting and better supported the way they use the space.

Over the next few weeks, we'll take you through our design decisions and share how each space contributed to the overall transformation.

The biggest transformation came out of how the house functions. By relocating the primary living spaces to the ground floor, we strengthened the connection to the beach, outdoor areas and the landscape beyond. As a result, rooms feel brighter, more intuitive and much more connected to daily activities and surroundings.

Local business GMW Jewellery recently approached us following the purchase of a larger premises near their existing store. We’ve been helping refine the display layout and selecting finishes inside and out. It’s all coming together quickly, and we are looking forward to opening day! Thanks to Icon Radford, Plymasters and ABI Interiors for the beautiful materials to work with.
