Our team's been busy over at Shepherd Center! The Shepherd 2020 Renovation brings a five-phase transformation to 85,000 SF of occupied hospital space, all while ensuring care continued without interruption. Scope included doubling the MS Medical Clinic, adding 20+ new day rooms, and bringing 35 new patient beds online.

Completing major renovations inside a fully operational hospital takes careful phasing and constant coordination, from connecting a new patient floor in occupied spaces to resolving an unexpected air handling issue just before opening day.

None of it would have been possible without a shared commitment between Shepherd, our team, and our talented trade partners to put people first every step of the way.

Fred Anderson Toyota of Cape Coral is ready to welcome customers in style.

This 84,000-SF Florida dealership was designed to reflect the coastal character of the area, with a unique finish palette developed closely with Southeast Toyota and Redline Design Group. A two-story showroom houses finance, insurance, consulting, and sales offices alongside a 47-bay service shop and a fully stocked parts department.

Custom touches set this project apart, including a millwork reception desk, lounge fixtures, and decorative exterior concrete mixed with aggregate shells. Porcelain tiling, glazed office fronts, and backlit illuminated logo panels bring the interior to life, while a structural steel and masonry build with ACM panels and curtainwall systems gives the exterior its modern edge.

The site includes a standalone car wash and Florida native landscaping for a finished look inside and out. Congratulations to the team, and thank you to our amazing partners for all of the hard work that went into this dealership!

It's National Nonprofit Day, and we're taking a moment to thank the organizations doing the real work in our communities.

From the Ronald McDonald House supporting families through medical journeys, to Habitat for Humanity building homes for families in need, to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation advancing research that saves lives, these partners inspire us. They're joined by dozens of other nonprofits we're grateful to support year after year.

To our nonprofit partners, thank you for the vital work you do and for letting us play a small part in your missions. Here's to building healthier, more connected communities together!

Our Raleigh team recently delivered this fifth-floor office upfit for Genesys at Horseshoe at Hub RTP in Durham, NC. The 21,700-SF project achieved LEED Platinum certification, with more than 34% energy cost savings against an ASHRAE baseline and a 70.76% reduction in water use from baseline.

The space brings together open and enclosed work areas, collaborative zones, café and lounge space, terrace access, and a dedicated video production room built for high-quality film work.

Since Choate's team had already built the Horseshoe at Hub RTP core and shell, the upfit moved efficiently from base building to finished workplace, giving Genesys employees a connection to a growing mixed-use district in Research Triangle Park.

Please join us in welcoming Blake Frenier, overseeing business development in Raleigh!

With 18 years of sales and relationship-building experience, Blake brings a strategic, long-term approach to business development, one built on trust, consistency, and a genuine understanding of what drives his clients. He's drawn to the kind of relationships that define the GC industry: patient, collaborative, and focused on the bigger picture rather than a quick close.

In Raleigh, Blake will focus on building lasting relationships with new and existing clients, delivering Choate's solutions-based, client-focused approach across the Triangle market. He's an active member of CREDA (formerly NAIOP), the Triangle Association of Realtors, and BOMA RDU, serving on multiple committees across these organizations.

Welcome to the team, Blake!

We're still riding the high from Associated Builders and Contractors of Georgia's Excellence in Construction Awards, where Municipal Grand took home an Award of Merit alongside the two other wins for our team. Three in one night. What an honor.

This adaptive reuse project transformed a 1960s-era banking landmark in Savannah's Downtown Historic District into Municipal Grand, a high-end hospitality destination for Midnight Auteur Hotels, all while preserving one of the city's most significant examples of International Style architecture. From a new rooftop pool to a woven-in egress stair to modern MEP systems integrated within an aging concrete frame, nearly every piece of this build meant reinforcing and reimagining what was already there.

Grateful doesn't begin to cover it. None of this happens without our incredible design and trade partners, who brought the precision this award recognizes. Thank you.

Congrats to our project team and partners: Lynch Associates Architects, PC, AAmp Studio, Tharpe Engineering Group, Method Engineering Group, and Ward Architecture + Preservation.

🏆 Another Award of Excellence from ABC of Georgia! The Hyundai Mobility Training Center of Georgia has earned this recognition in the Institutional category, marking our second Excellence in Construction Award from Associated Builders and Contractors of Georgia this season.

This ~89,000-SF facility was a challenging build, not a conventional classroom building, but a space engineered to replicate real-world EV and lithium-ion battery manufacturing environments, complete with high-bay training spaces and advanced labs for robotics, mechatronics, welding, and automated assembly.

As the "front door" to Hyundai Motor Group's Metaplant America, the largest economic development project in Georgia history, this building had to deliver on an accelerated schedule with zero room for error. At peak production, more than 150 workers were on site daily. The coordination it took to keep that many trades moving in sync and on schedule was a feat in and of itself.

This award belongs to every trade partner and every crew member who showed up day after day to build something this specialized, this fast, and this well. Thank you for all of your hard work!
