I found out this week my honey bees love my hanging baskets too! On Monday, of of my two hives swarmed to this hanging basket in the yard. Thanks to Mark Ivory for extra equipment! I was able to tuck them into a new hive box…
Fast forward, the new hive is settling in nicely all week and I plan on going to the bee store to replace Marks equipment this afternoon. Right before I leave, I walk outside to find another swarm in the yard next to my Pap’s old bee box. I figured it was the hive that swarmed on Monday so I leave them alone while I run to the bee store. I plan to take these girls back into their new box and add a 2nd box to this hive. Before doing so I check this new hive and find they are all still there and quite happy in their new space. So it appears to be another swarm and I now needed the equipment. I just got to replace Mark’s🤦‍♀️. Thank you again to Mark again for your help in setting up now a 4th box. I only wanted 2 hives🐝🤷‍♀️! Another trip to the bee store!

Beekeepers out there-could this 1st picture be 2 different swarms? Couldn’t locate the queen on either and the smaller bunch didn’t follow when we put them in the new box.
